This antique, hand-carved, ornate wooden wall hanging is made from oak and dates back to the 1880s. It features a hand-painted tile depicting a Dutch windmill scene. This style of art predates the use of ceramic tiles. The painted wood has been affixed to the carved wall hanger. It is possible that this wall hanging was commissioned by two different artists: one to carve the wooden piece and another to paint the windmill scene on a wooden board. There is a fingerprint on the corner of the painting.
